Akara Design Studio transformed an existing 1-bedroom investment apartment in Sandton into a modern, stylish space ideal for short-term rental. The scope of work included full interior design, procurement, project management, and installation, with a focus on creating a comfortable yet sophisticated environment for guests.

The design theme blended modern simplicity with retro elements, incorporating custom furniture, carefully selected décor, and large format Infinity slab cladding for feature walls. The apartment features an open-plan kitchen, lounge, balcony, and bedroom, all enhanced by bespoke furnishings, rugs, scatter cushions, and accessories.

Akara’s attention to detail extended to wall finishes, color schemes, and custom-designed wall cladding and clever spatial solutions for a compact unit, like the integrated desk & bedside table. This project showcases Akara’s expertise in creating functional yet aesthetically pleasing interiors, making it a standout option in the competitive AirBnB market.
