BRIEF

Akara Design Studio undertook a full turnkey interior architecture project that included interior design, sourcing, procurement, site project management, and installation. The project involved custom furniture, cabinetry, décor, and styling, with a close collaboration alongside architects Studio HB to ensure cohesive and innovative design solutions. The site itself presented a challenging shape but offered picturesque views of a nearby dam, river, and park, which influenced the design direction.

Key features of the project include meticulous space planning, custom cabinetry, bathroom and vanity design, and a thoughtful selection of fittings and fixtures. Decorative lighting, wall finishes, and feature walls, including wallpaper and decals in the kids' rooms, were also key components. The color schemes were light, warm, and earthy, evoking a homey, welcoming atmosphere that drew inspiration from Scandinavian architecture. Unique materials such as terrazzo for the patio counter and bamboo flooring throughout further distinguished the design.

One of the standout spaces was the custom-designed home office, spanning two levels and offering magnificent views. This space was functional and aesthetically pleasing, featuring a bookcase and hidden storeroom. Personal touches, such as selecting artwork from the client’s photography collection, were woven into the design to make the space truly unique and reflective of the client's tastes and experiences.
