Akara Design Studio was entrusted with a full turnkey interior architecture project for a newly built family home.

This comprehensive project included interior design, sourcing, procurement, site project management, installation, and supplier liaison. The design featured a blend of custom furniture, as well as imported Danish and Italian pieces, with careful attention to décor, styling, and installation. The home, a spacious 4-bedroom layout, also included a PJ lounge, family lounge, formal lounge, and an open-plan patio and bar area.

From the ground up, Akara Design Studio handled the space planning, selection of fittings and fixtures, and decorative lighting. Collaborating with a professional team, the project also covered electrical, automation, and plumbing. Cabinetry design, bathroom design, and vanity finishes were meticulously crafted, along with tile selection, wall finishes, and feature walls, including Orac cladding for the formal lounge and wallpaper for the kids' rooms. Custom furniture, curtains, and blinds were tailored to the home's modern aesthetic, and the design of the bar, decking, fireplace, and braai area reflected the home's seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

Additional design elements included custom mirrors, art, and sculptures to enhance the luxurious ambiance. The overall style was modern, minimalist, and masculine, featuring simplicity in design, with a color palette dominated by grey and concrete tones. These choices brought a sleek, sophisticated feel to the home while maintaining a warm, inviting environment for the family.
